Siemens Headquarters office is certified by LEED (Gold)

In 2009 Metropolis has developed an engineering utilities design for Siemens AG Headquarters in Moscow, located in the historical center of Moscow in "Legion-II" Business center at the address: 13, Bolshaya Tatarskaya St. Total officer area equals to 19.500 sq.m. 

Siemens -IMG_3364.jpgMetropolis scope of works included development of the Concept and Tender design for engineering utilities of entire object, including entry zone, atrium, restaurant, conference hall and VIP zone, as well as office and technical premises, underground floors and external utilities.   

The project has been designed on base of the latest construction technologies aiming at satisfaction of the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standard requirements.


On 13.03.2012 the Siemens Headquarters building was officially certified under LEED standard with assignment of the Gold level of compliance. This is the first project of this level in Moscow and 2nd LEED certified in Russia.



The following issues were acknowledged specifically:

  • Office location from the point of its accessibility by public and auto transport, bicycles;
  • Water resources usage efficiency by reduction of the water consumption by 36%;
  • Environmentally friendly optimization of the energy consumption, in particular cooling and heating systems, minimization of the negative environmental impact with energy efficiency by 46%;
  • Application of the new strategies and innovative concept of the office, high quality premises environment.
